Boutique CPA Firm Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 + discretionary bonus

Hybrid / Remote (San Diego, CA) Overview A boutique CPA firm is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its growing practice. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with business owners and high-net-worth individuals, providing both tax compliance and strategic advisory services. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise, a client-service mindset, and the ability to independently manage complex engagements while contributing to the growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of individual and business tax clients from planning through filing
• Prepare and review federal and multi-state tax returns
• Advise clients on tax planning, business transactions, and wealth preservation strategies
• Research technical tax matters and develop practical solutions
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide proactive recommendations
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through consultative service
• Support process improvements, technology initiatives, and operational efficiencies
• Mentor and develop junior team members

Minimum Qualifications
• Active CPA license required
• 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Experience with individual, partnership, S-corporation, and corporate tax returns
• Strong knowledge of complex tax matters and multi-state filings
• Ability to independently manage client relationships and engagements
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients
• Exposure to estate, trust, or wealth transfer planning
• Tax advisory and strategic planning experience
• Experience mentoring or reviewing staff work
