Hotel Controller

We are looking for a driven Hotel Controller to provide strategic financial leadership for La Valencia Hotel. The right candidate will guide financial performance, support property leaders in delivering consistent results.

• Oversee core financial functions across the entire Hotel.
• Process Month-end close and Year-end close.
• Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements and analyses.
• Ensure State and City tax compliance.
• Partner with General Manager and Executive Committees to identify cost controls.
• Guide properties in annual operating plans, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Oversee Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Monitor and enhance internal controls and inventory management.
• Process Manual checks including expense reports and final checks
• Ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.
• Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll.
• Enter and audit proper GL and financial journal entries.
• Manage accounting team.
• Additional responsibility may be assigned by manager as needed.

• Advanced knowledge Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
• Conducting and completing Audits.
• Balancing budget sheets.
• Creating and managing Hotel Budgets at the department level.
• Knowledge understanding financial statements.
• Knowledge of Transient Occupant Tax (TOT)
• Attention to detail and clear communication. Able to translate complex accounting topics for non-accounting team members.
• Experience with Opera, M3 Accounting, Info Genesis, Hotel Effectiveness, iBuy, and B4T a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• At least 5 years of finance leadership in a hospitality environment.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

• Ability to sit/work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day
• Ability to walk up and down stairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

COMPENSATION: $120,000 – $135,000 annually - Depending on experience
