Accounting Clerk

Description

Our client in the nonprofit industry is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial recordkeeping. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining organized records, and contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

+ Assist with invoice entry, payment processing, and cash receipts posting

+ Reconcile bank statements and other financial records

+ Maintain accurate and organized accounting documentation

+ Support month-end close activities and account reconciliations

+ Prepare and update spreadsheets, reports, and financial data for internal use

+ Respond to vendor and internal inquiries related to accounting transactions

+ Help ensure compliance with internal procedures and documentation standards

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical accounting experience

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software

+ Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

+ Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred

Skills:

+ Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment

+ Familiarity with general ledger support, reconciliations, and data entry

+ Exposure to ERP systems or accounting platforms such as Quick Books or Net Suite
