Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of a high-volume live entertainment venue. This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility across general ledger accounting, AP, AR, payroll, financial reporting, and event settlements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small finance team. Strong communication, critical thinking, and a willingness to take ownership are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers and ensure accurate financial coding and recordkeeping
- Prepare and analyze financial information, including revenue, expenses, depreciation, and operating costs
- Prepare and assist with event settlements, including occasional evening work following events
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested financial information
- Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support the implementation and improvement of financial, payroll, timekeeping, and accounting systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency
- Perform additional accounting and finance projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public accounting or financial management
- Strong knowledge of general and accrual accounting
- Experience with GL accounting, AP, AR, and payroll
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- Self-sufficient, curious, and resourceful with a strong sense of ownership
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus
