The Center currently has over 100 staff working at five facilities across San Diego County.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sexual Health and Wellness Director, the Program Data Specialist is responsible for supporting Sexual Health and Wellness programs through accurate and timely data entry, database management, data quality assurance, and providing training and technical assistance to staff. This position ensures program data and documentation meet established organizational, contractual, and funder requirements. The position also provides limited client and operational support by assisting with scheduling HIV, STI, and Hepatitis testing appointments, responding to client inquiries, providing information about services, and making appropriate internal and external referrals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry and validation, database maintenance, data quality checks, staff support, appointment scheduling, client communication, and departmental administrative support.

Primary

Roles & Responsibilities Administrative and Data Management Support
  • Enter program, client, service, testing, outreach, and navigation data accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain data in Apricot, LEO, HIPO, SPARS, and other required databases.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks for completeness, accuracy, duplicates, and discrepancies.
  • Identify data issues and coordinate with staff to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Assist with compiling and organizing data for internal departmental needs and required documentation.
  • Provide staff training and technical assistance on data entry, documentation, database use, and data quality requirements.
  • Maintain organized and accurate program records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable confidentiality requirements.
Program Operations and Departmental Support
  • Provide administrative and operational support to ensure efficient service
  • Assist staff with identifying and correcting documentation and data collection.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, quality improvement activities, and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with Saturday testing operations as needed, including screening clients and facilitating entry into the building for scheduled appointments.
  • Work with the Sexual Health and Wellness Director and staff to improve data processes, documentation, and workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Sexual Health & Wellness department.
Client Engagement and Appointment Coordination
  • Assist clients with scheduling HIV, STI, and hepatitis testing.
  • Provide information about Sexual Health & Wellness services and community resources.
