The Buyer II is responsible for procurement of materials, components, supplies and/or services for the company in accordance with Procurement procedures and work instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Adhere to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
- Coordinate and develop purchasing strategies with internal customers based on needs, product specifications, and statements of work.
- Review purchase requisitions and execute purchase orders with approved suppliers.
- Track order statuses and resolve or elevate issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain procurement records (e.g., order confirmations, invoices, contracts) in accordance with procedures.
- Interface with Procurement management to provide updates, input, and communicate with other departments.
- Identify opportunities across the supply chain for cost reductions, inventory optimization, and quality improvement.
- Liaise with internal customers, inventory control, receiving, and Quality to ensure products arrive in good condition.
- Resolve any supplier‑related nonconformances in a timely manner.
- Document, track, and report Key Performance Indicators for key suppliers, including on‑time delivery and quality performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and resourceful problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with excellent Excel skills.
- Experience managing and developing customer and supplier relationships.
- Working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning, and Kanban systems.
- Ability to negotiate and communicate purchase‑order changes with internal customers and suppliers.
- Ability to learn technical concepts through work instructions, standard operating procedures, and on‑the‑job training.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations: ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16/2013, MHLW MO 169, and TG(MD)
