Sr. Economic Research Analyst

Description

We are seeking a Senior Economic Research Analyst to develop and maintain advanced economic and econometric models that support forecasting, policy analysis, and strategic decision-making. This role will analyze economic, financial, transportation, and demographic data to identify trends, generate forecasts, and provide actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative expertise with the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop, validate, and maintain econometric and economic forecasting models.

+ Analyze economic, financial, demographic, and market data to identify trends and opportunities.

+ Conduct forecasting, scenario analysis, and predictive modeling to support strategic planning.

+ Perform cost-benefit, impact, and policy analyses using quantitative methodologies.

+ Create data visualizations, dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings.

+ Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and research efforts.

+ Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

+ Monitor economic indicators and industry trends to inform forecasts and recommendations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

+ Master's degree or higher in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field.

+ 5+ years of experience in economic research, forecasting, econometric modeling, or applied economics.

+ Strong knowledge of economic theory, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling techniques.

+

Experience with regression analysis, forecasting methodologies, and quantitative research.

+ Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools.

+ Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with econometric techniques such as panel data analysis, choice modeling, or advanced forecasting methods.

+ Knowledge of economic impact modeling tools such as IMPLAN or REMI.

+ Experience working with large public datasets, including Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Bureau of Economic Analysis data.

+ Familiarity with GIS, Git Hub, and data visualization platforms.

+ Experience translating complex quantitative findings into business recommendations for executive audiences.

+ Background supporting transportation, infrastructure, public sector, or regional economic planning initiatives.
