Includ(Ed) – Inclusive Summer Camp

Locations:
Pacific Beach & Point Loma, San Diego

Schedule:

Approximately 30 hours per week

Compensation: $18–$20 per hour (depending on experience)

About Includ(Ed)

Includ(Ed) is an inclusive early childhood and school-age program serving children ages 0–10. Our mission is to increase access to high-quality, inclusive education where children with and without disabilities learn, play, and thrive together. Our camps are designed to be welcoming, engaging, and supportive for all learners.

Position Overview

We are seeking energetic, compassionate, and responsible Camp Counselors to join our inclusive camp team in Pacific Beach and Point Loma. Camp Counselors support children ages 2–10 in daily activities including art, sensory play, outdoor exploration, group games, and structured learning experiences. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in dynamic environments and are passionate about inclusion, child development, and creating joyful camp experiences for all children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage children ages 2–10 in a safe, inclusive camp environment
  • Support daily camp activities including art, music, movement, outdoor play, and thematic projects
  • Facilitate positive peer interactions and model inclusive, respectful behavior
  • Provide individualized support to children with varying developmental needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and fellow counselors to implement inclusive practices
  • Assist with classroom setup, transitions, snack/lunch routines, and cleanup
  • Communicate professionally with team members and leadership
  • Maintain active supervision and adhere to all safety guidelines
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass background check and fingerprinting (Live Scan) prior to start
  • Experience working with children required
  • Experience working with children with disabilities strongly preferred
  • Coursework in child development, education, psychology, or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to work approximately 30 hours per week during camp sessions
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Energetic, reliable, and nurturing demeanor
Work Environment

This Position Involves

  • Active supervision indoors and outdoors
  • Frequent movement, bending, sitting on the floor, and engaging in play
  • Supporting children with diverse developmental needs
