Assistant Project Manager

Job Overview

Our client is a respected commercial general contractor based in San Diego County offering preconstruction, design-build, construction management and general construction services across the western United States in retail, big-box, industrial, office, financial institutions, multifamily, and tenant improvements.

They are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to manage construction projects under the direction of a Project Manager or VP.

Assist in planning, organizing, and controlling all elements of construction projects. Work with clients, subcontractors, and employees to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.

• 2+ years of experience in the construction industry
• 2+ years as a Project Engineer or similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and with the bid process with subcontractors
• Experience with quantity takeoff and estimating
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schedules, specs, and other construction documents
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Outlook, Procore, and Bluebeam
• Ability to interact with external and internal clients at the executive level
• Ability to manage and coach others in vocational and administrative skills
• Capable of multitasking, problem solving and managing priorities
