• Minimum of 3 years full‑time paid professional experience in Project/Construction Management of projects, preferably educational facility or public agency construction projects. Involved in all phases: pre‑construction activities, planning, monitoring construction progress, and close‑out activities.
• Experience in safety construction protocols, Cal OSHA requirements, and environmental procedures is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or an environmental field (or equivalent experience). Candidates without a degree may compensate with experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

• Use of Asset and Work Management System (Maximo).

• Assist in planning, coordinating, processing, and expediting projects related to the construction, modernization, installation, and repair of schools, administrative buildings, and other facilities.
• Act as liaison among District Project Management Units, Maintenance and Operations Areas, Environmental Consultants, and Abatement contractors for facilities construction, renovation, and repairs.
• Review Requests for Assistance (RFAs) with FETU technical staff, determine scope of work, and review project drawings.
• Perform initial funding line review and coordinate with facilities accounting staff for appropriate project funding; prepare funding request packages.
• Plan projects, track job progress, and report actual labor charges.
• Request cost proposals from environmental consultants, review them to determine accuracy, rationality, and viability.
• Work with technical personnel to estimate costs of asbestos and lead abatements.
• Initiate and execute asbestos abatement and lead remediation contracts, task orders, and JOC contracts.
• Coordinate, plan, and assist in scheduling lead and asbestos abatements for various projects before demolition and renovations, including temporary housing of students and staff.
• Review contractor submittals, daily logs, and certified payroll for invoice approval.
• Check and analyze requests for alterations in scope of work, determining the merit and validity of change orders and cost increases.
• Provide support to FETU Technical Staff on project closeout and certification efforts.
• Prepare requests and justifications for bid processing and coordinate and monitor the entire contract award process.
• Update FETU project tracking sheet to track project progress.
• Attend Job Start meetings to review asbestos, lead, and safety requirements with the contractor and related parties; ensure meeting minutes are documented and reported.
