As our
Senior Construction Manager
,you will lead high-impact public works projects including bridges, highways, water facilities, parks, open space, and coastal infrastructure. You will serve as the primary owner representative, overseeing complex construction programs involving civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural components while ensuring alignment with approved plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Construction Leadership & Owner Representation:Serve as the primary owner representative for major public infrastructure projects, overseeing daily construction management activities and ensuring work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Project Delivery & Performance Oversight:Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and project milestones to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety expectations.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution:Facilitate coordination between public agency clients, designers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to proactively address field challenges and maintain project momentum.
- Contract Administration & Documentation:Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and claims while maintaining clear project documentation and communication throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Field Leadership & Construction Execution:Provide on-site leadership by coordinating inspectors, field staff, and subcontractors while resolving construction issues fairly, efficiently, and in the best interest of project success.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related discipline
- 15+ years of experience managing construction or engineering for public works projects
- Active California Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
- Demonstrated success developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Salary:$175,000 - $205,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
- Incentives:Discretionary bonus and recognition programs
- Time Off:3-4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays (depending on experience)
