Webuild () a leading executive search and construction staffing firm has been retained by a distinguished San Diego-based development organization to identify an exceptional Construction Project Manager to oversee high‑profile commercial and mixed‑use projects. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned construction leader to take full ownership of complex, large‑scale developments and make a measurable impact on some of the region’s most visible projects.

About

the Role

The selected Construction Project Manager will lead all aspects of project delivery, from pre‑construction planning and initial grading through final closeout. This position requires hands‑on oversight of project schedules, budgets, subcontractor and vendor coordination, material procurement, and rigorous quality and safety compliance. Projects typically range in value from $15 million to $50 million and include multi‑family, mixed‑use, condominium, and commercial developments. The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent projects, oversee construction sequencing, direct field teams, and serve as a central point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Include

Leading onsite construction operations; managing RFIs and change orders; maintaining detailed project documentation; ensuring adherence to all regulatory and safety standards; mentoring and guiding project teams; fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and excellence; providing strategic insight into scheduling, cost control, and risk mitigation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive construction management experience, including at least five years managing multi‑family, mixed‑use, condominium, or commercial projects of significant scale. Candidates must have a demonstrable record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget, with strong expertise in construction scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and field operations. Leadership, communication, and organizational skills are paramount, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate complex stakeholder environments.

A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Why This Opportunity is Compelling

This is more than a role—it is a platform for a construction leader to shape the built environment in one of California’s most dynamic markets. The client offers a competitive compensation package, the chance to work on high‑visibility projects, and long‑term career growth within a respected and innovative organization. The position provides the rare combination of technical challenge, leadership responsibility, and tangible impact, making it ideal for a results‑driven, senior‑level professional seeking the next milestone in their career.
