We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects in the San Diego area. This role works closely with Project Managers and senior leadership to plan, organize, and control all elements of assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is results‑driven, highly organized, and comfortable working with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams in a fast‑moving environment.
Responsibilities- Assist in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Support subcontractor bidding and buyout processes
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with estimating
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Coordinate project documentation, schedules, and reporting
- Track budgets, change orders, and subcontractor performance
- Communicate effectively with field teams and executive stakeholders
- Help resolve project issues diplomatically and efficiently
- 2–4 years of construction industry experience
- 2–4 years as a Project Engineer or similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field
- Experience participating in subcontractor bid processes
- Quantity takeoff and estimating experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Outlook, Procore, and Bluebeam
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities - Team‑oriented with confidence, ambition, and self‑motivation
