Duties & Responsibilities- Internal
- Prepare consistently accurate and detailed quantity surveys
- Identify, research, and obtain relevant information for items being quantified or solicited from subcontractors
- Independently develop complete project cost estimate packages for projects up to $5M, depending on complexity
- Owner / Architect
- Attend preconstruction meetings to gain project information and exposure to external customer interactions
- Subcontractor
- Maintain awareness of the local subcontractor community and differentiate capabilities of subcontractors being solicited
- Clearly and effectively discuss project scope during the subcontractor solicitation process
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field
- Skills & Experience
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (e.g., Timberline), and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera)
- Strong attention to detail and resourcefulness in acquiring project-specific information
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective at managing multiple tasks with differing deadlines
- Flexible to work hours as required by project or proposal deadlines
- Physical Demands
- Capable of traversing construction-type terrain, climbing ladders and temporary stairways
- Conduct visual inspections of construction quality and materials
- Perform jobsite walks to ensure project completion and identify/eliminate safety hazards
- Work Environment
- Duties are performed on-site and in-office; this role is not remote
- Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- Occasionally exposed to extreme job site conditions and loud noise levels
- Work is performed in outside weather conditions
