Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (APM)

Project Engineers & Assistant Project Managers assist the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in bidding, tracking subcontractor releases, project billings, handling RFIs, scheduling and other administrative tasks. They communicate with owners, architects, subcontractors and office staff.

Responsibilities

Hill Construction Project Managers and Project Engineers work with the Superintendent to manage all aspects of construction.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Bidding / Estimating
  • Budgeting
  • RFI Management
  • Subcontract Management
  • Purchase Order Management
  • Shop Drawing Management
  • Change Order Management
  • Project Billing Review / Approval
  • Risk Management and Forecasting
  • Submittal and Procurement Management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience with project schedules, RFIs, estimates, budgets and contracts.
  • Ability to read and bid construction plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of subcontractor scopes.
  • Strong communication with project owners, architects and internal team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Experience with P6, On‑Center, Revit, Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Sage or Timberline experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to visit and walk job sites regularly.
