Commercial Project Manager

Overview

We re partnering with a well-established, family-owned General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality public works and commercial construction projects throughout San Diego County. Their portfolio includes fire stations, civic buildings, libraries, community centers, public safety facilities, and other projects that make a lasting impact on local communities.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and public works construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys leading teams, building client relationships, managing project financials, and delivering successful projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate has experience working for a commercial General Contractor and is comfortable managing multiple projects while collaborating with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field teams.

• Lead multiple commercial and public works construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements and oversee project buyout.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and owner communications.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate internal and external project teams.
• Partner with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution.
• Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
• Identify project risks and develop proactive solutions.
• Maintain strong client relationships while delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial General Contractor.
• Public works construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Design-Build and/or CMAR projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and scheduling.
• Experience managing multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
