Position OverviewLT Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team. We have an immediate need for a coffee shop tenant-improvement project beginning in the San Diego area in early September.
The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day field operations, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, quality control, jobsite safety and communication with the project manager, client and design team.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on field leader with commercial tenant-improvement experience, strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they affect the project.
Responsibilities- Manage daily jobsite operations from mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections and material deliveries.
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules consistent with the overall project schedule.
- Conduct daily planning and communicate upcoming needs to the project manager.
- Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals and approved changes.
- Identify conflicts, incomplete information and constructability concerns early.
- Maintain quality control and verify that work complies with the contract documents.
- Enforce jobsite safety requirements and conduct regular safety meetings.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photographs and jobsite documentation.
- Coordinate required inspections and work closely with building officials.
- Track punch-list work and lead projects through final inspection and closeout.
- Maintain a clean, professional and well-organized jobsite.
- Build positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, inspectors and project stakeholders.
- Represent LT Construction professionally and uphold our standards for communication, accountability and customer service.
- At least five years of commercial construction experience, including experience supervising commercial projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial tenant-improvement projects.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and construction schedules.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing and building codes.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and resolving field conflicts.
- Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to use email, mobile applications and basic construction-management technology.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass any project-specific background checks or other site-access requirements.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with restaurant, coffee shop, retail or similar fast-paced tenant improvements.
- Current OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working in occupied facilities or other sensitive operating environments.
- Experience managing inspections, project closeout and turnover to clients.
- Willingness/ability to travel
