About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee capital improvement projects, unit renovations, ADU construction, and property repositioning efforts across our multifamily portfolio. This role will manage projects from planning and budgeting through completion while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for coordinating multiple renovation projects simultaneously, including unit turns, interior remodels, exterior improvements, common area upgrades, and other value-add initiatives. This position serves as the primary point of contact between ownership, property management, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and efficient execution throughout each phase of construction.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of solving problems in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize competing deadlines, and a willingness to be in the field regularly monitoring project progress, conducting quality control inspections, and ensuring work meets company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee unit renovations and capital improvement projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and inspections
  • Conduct regular property visits and quality control checks
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and change orders
  • Order and coordinate materials
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting
  • Work closely with ownership, operations, and property management teams
  • Assist with due diligence inspections for acquisitions
Qualifications
  • Experience managing multifamily renovation or value-add construction projects
  • Familiarity with residential construction methods, building systems, and sequencing
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously
  • Knowledge of California permitting and inspection processes
  • Ability to read construction plans, scopes of work, and specifications
  • Experience preparing budgets, reviewing bids, and tracking project costs
  • Construction, maintenance, or project management experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read construction plans
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Real Estate Development, Business, or a related field
  • Spanish-speaking
  • Experience using construction management software such as Job Tread, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar platforms

Relevant experience or demonstrated interest in construction management will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Additional Information

Compensation:
This is a non-exempt position with a starting pay of $25/hour.

Location:

San Diego - Little Italy / Work to be completed in the office and on-site at the properties.

Employment Type:

Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
