The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of a construction project from execution through closeout. This includes coordinating budgeting, scheduling, documentation, field support, and communication with clients and subcontractors. The APM plays a critical role in project execution and delivery, working closely with both field and office personnel to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Project Oversight & Team Support- Serve as the secondary point of contact for project team members.
- Ensure responsibilities assigned to roles (e.g., PE, Superintendent) are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to maintain alignment with contract obligations.
- Track and analyze project expenses using production tracking and cost trending tools.
- Maintain and update monthly financial projections.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing with complete supporting documentation.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Present regular status updates and identify risks or variances to the General Contractor.
- Issue timely contract notices and manage change order conversion.
- Review and analyze project schedule for alignment with contract timelines.
- Coordinate with clients/GCs to optimize workflow.
- Track dependencies and adjacent scopes impacting field execution.
- Review and track submittals related to the project scope.
- Ensure submittals are uploaded to Procore per GC requirements.
- Distribute approved submittals to field platforms (e.g., Plan Grid).
- Present budget, contract scope, and submittal status to field teams.
- Ensure field teams understand expectations and work plans.
- Support field operations and address real-time needs.
- Track field production rates versus planned targets.
- Update Project Manager bi-weekly with findings and actions.
- Generate monthly cost forecasts and assess actual vs. projected costs.
- Prepare estimates and documentation for change order requests.
- Ensure alignment with current conditions and scope requirements.
- Participate in internal Team Action Meetings.
- Attend weekly GC check-in meetings to align on schedule and issues.
- Present executive-level project summaries, including financials, risk, and cash flow updates.
- Support additional project needs as required.

Safety & Compliance- • Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
- • Document and report any incidents, safety concerns, or deviations from standard procedures to management.
- • 2–5 years of experience in construction or project management support roles. Interior specs preferred (insulation, fire stopping, air barrier)
- • Familiarity with construction documents, schedules, and sequencing.
- • Experience with Procore, Plan Grid, Bluebeam or equivalent systems.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- • Knowledge of insulation, fire stopping, sealants, or air barrier scopes is a plus.
