Our client, a well-established and growing heavy civil construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Wet Utility Project Manager to join their team in San Diego, California
. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to take ownership of challenging underground utility projects throughout the region while working with a respected industry leader.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing wet utility construction projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain installations, and will be responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing wet utility construction projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain installations, and will be responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple wet utility construction projects simultaneously.
- Oversee all phases of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Evaluate change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
- Support project teams in resolving technical and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Monitor project schedules and drive successful on-time project completion.
- 5+ years of experience managing wet utility construction projects.
- Proven experience with underground utility installations including water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
- Strong understanding of public works construction practices and contract administration.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management software.
- Experience working on water treatment plant construction projects is highly desirable.
- Structural concrete construction experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with municipal and public agency projects is beneficial.
