We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Corporate Facilities group for a Construction Manager, based in the San Diego, California region. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing a variety of construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects across the organization’s facilities, from initial concept through project closeout.

The Construction Manager serves as the primary liaison with third-party contractors, engineers, and vendors, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable building codes, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards and policies. Responsibilities also include monitoring field activities for quality and safety, resolving construction issues, facilitating inspections, maintaining accurate project documentation, and providing regular status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage multiple construction and facility improvement projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, contractors, and internal resources to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with company standards.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, EH&S, Security, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with architects and engineers to review plans and technical drawings.
  • Prepare project documentation including cost estimates, schedules, procurement requests, change orders, and project closeout documentation.
  • Support contractor selection, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
  • Track project costs and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Run progress meetings and update customers on how the work is going.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize schedule and budget impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage multiple concurrent construction projects while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal customers, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate construction activities to minimize operational disruptions within active facilities.
  • Review contractor performance and ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
  • Support development of capital improvement projects and facility modifications.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and provide technical recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company safety requirements, and established construction practices.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with facility management, operations, engineering staff, vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of contractor safety requirements and permit coordination.
