Job Description - Senior Interior Designer (San Diego, CA)

Studio H Design Group | San Diego, CA | Full-Time | On-site About Studio H

Studio H is a nationally recognized interior design firm creating elevated residences, gathering spaces, and product collections for discerning clients across the country. Our multidisciplinary team, led by founder Kelly Hinchman, has been featured in Architectural Digest, Domino, and California Home+Design. We're a collective of rule-breakers and taste makers working across residential, hospitality, commercial, and product design.

The Role

We're seeking a Senior Interior Designer who pairs a refined design sensibility with exceptional technical precision. This role sits at the intersection of creative vision and construction execution --- you'll shape beautiful, elevated interiors while producing clean, accurate, code-compliant construction documents in AutoCAD that keep our projects moving efficiently from concept to completion.

What You'll Do
  • Lead design development for high-end residential and commercial projects, from concept through construction administration
  • Produce detailed, accurate construction drawing sets (floor plans, elevations, RCPs, millwork/detail drawings) using AutoCAD
  • Develop space planning, FF&E selections, and finish/material schedules that reflect Studio H's design point of view
  • Coordinate directly with architects, contractors, engineers, and trades to ensure design intent translates cleanly into buildable documents
  • Present concepts and documentation to clients with polish and confidence
  • Mentor and direct junior designers on both design and drafting standards
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, permitting requirements, and construction methods
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of interior design experience, ideally in high-end residential or hospitality
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for construction document production (non-negotiable)
  • Working knowledge of Sketch Up, Revit, and/or Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • A strong aesthetic point of view balanced with meticulous technical accuracy
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, building codes, and CD sets
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented, solutions-first mindset
Compensation

$85,/year, DOE, plus benefits.
