The Position: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect to join our San Diego studio
, with a primary focus on Federal, Commercial, and Mixed-Use projects
.

• This is a pivotal senior-level technical and project leadership position for a California-licensed architect who can successfully guide complex projects from design development through construction documentation, permitting, agency review, and construction administration.
• You will work closely with project managers, designers, clients, consultants, engineers, and internal teams while taking ownership of technical execution, documentation quality, consultant coordination, code compliance, and overall architectural delivery.

• Lead architectural project delivery across Federal, Commercial, Mixed-Use, and other complex project types
• Guide projects through design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration
• Lead project documentation and coordination within Revit-based BIM environments
• Serve as a senior technical resource to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop, coordinate, and review architectural drawings, specifications, details, and construction documents
• Lead consultant coordination across structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and specialty disciplines
• Manage technical coordination between design intent and constructability
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control of architectural documentation
• Ensure project documents comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, jurisdictional standards, and client requirements
• Support projects requiring heightened documentation, security, technical, or governmental standards
• Participate in client presentations, project meetings, agency coordination, and consultant meetings
• Coordinate permitting and entitlement requirements with applicable agencies and jurisdictions
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change documentation, and other construction-phase deliverables
• Conduct site observations and assist with resolving field and construction-related issues
• Support project schedules, staffing plans, work plans, and deliverable milestones
• Mentor Project Architects, Job Captains, Designers, and emerging architectural professionals
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and senior studio leadership on project performance
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
• 10+ years of professional architectural experience
  , with significant experience operating at the Senior Project Architect level
• Active CA Registered Architecture Licensure is mandatory (CA / NCARB)
• Strong project experience within Federal, Commercial, Mixed-Use, Civic, Institutional, or similarly complex architectural environments
• Federal project experience with government agencies, federal facilities, or highly regulated project environments strongly preferred
