Position Description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego () is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. It is seeking highly qualified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians for outpatient positions focused on treating orthopedic patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

The primary emphasis of this role is on our spine program, and the successful candidates will be required to manage spine patients and perform standard interventional spine procedures (such as epidural injections, medial branch blocks, and radio frequency ablation). The successful candidates will also engage in advanced spinal interventional procedures.

Additionally, selected candidates will perform other procedures, including EMG and peripheral joint injections. While the primary focus is on non-operative outpatient spine care, there is also scope for inpatient consults and inpatient care for those interested. The selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, teaching, and research at our various UC San Diego Health locations.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
