DESCRIPTION

The mission of the Academic Integrity (AI) Office is to promote and support a culture of academic integrity in order to reinforce quality teaching and learning at UC San Diego, thus advancing the University's mission as a student-centered public research university. We do this through research-driven programming, policy management, and training and support services that improve the teaching and learning experiences of students (graduates and undergraduates) and educators (faculty, instructors and instructional assistants) across all general campus departments and degree programs at UC San Diego.

In addition to holding over 2500 one-on-one appointments, hosting over 80 AI Reviews, educating around 800 students in our AI Training, and conducting multiple preventative education opportunities within the academic year, the Academic Integrity office also provides leadership on strategies and initiatives to support integrity and ethics (core UC San Diego principles) within the University's teaching and learning profile through integrity-related curricular innovations and partnerships with a wide array of departments and faculty.

Under the oversight and work direction of the Senior Case Coordinator, the Case Coordinator is responsible for implementing the UC San Diego Academic Integrity Policy (Policy) process. This role has two key functions:
1) managing a load of 450-500 cases (from case initiation to closure, including Appeals and AI Reviews) with the responsibility for ensuring the cases are resolved per timelines and,
2) conducting case resolution meetings for 250-300 cases. Performing well in the first function requires self-direction, independent judgement, focus, analytical skills, and an attention to detail, while performing well in the second requires the ability to facilitate difficult conversations and to hold others accountable with empathy. In addition to these two core functions, the Case Coordinator provides consultation, advice, and assistance to the campus community regarding applicability and interpretation of the Policy, and maintains academic integrity policy and process statistics to ensure just-in-time reporting capability for the Senior Case Coordinator.

Upon request, the Case Coordinator contributes to AI Office educational and outreach initiatives, publications and web-based content to increase awareness across the campus community about academic integrity policy and processes.
