Position Overview

Position title: Clinical Infectious Diseases

Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $180,000 - $250,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position Description

The Division of Infectious Diseases & Global Public Health () in the Department of Medicine () at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body, and is actively recruiting Infectious Disease clinicians with demonstrated clinical excellence in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Successful candidates will attend the inpatient Infectious Diseases () services at Hillcrest and/or Jacobs Hospitals and will have c sessions. They will also teach medical students, residents, and Infectious Disease fellows on service and during structured didactics. In addition, the faculty member will be an integral part of building the Infectious Diseases & Global Public Health Division at UCSD.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  • Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or an MD/PhD in the area of Infectious Diseases or a related field.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
  • Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease.
