Position Overview:
This role is part of the college's adjunct faculty pool for Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering courses. Applicants will be considered for assignments across the district's campuses and continuing education centers as openings arise.
- Teach lecture and laboratory courses as assigned.
- Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain student availability outside of class.
- Adhere to professional conduct and ethics standards.
- Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Complete accurate records of attendance, grades, and assessments.
- Create and maintain an environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or engineering from a regionally accredited institution; AND
- Two (2) years of full‑time related professional experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
- California Community College Instructor Credential in Biological Sciences (valid for life).
- California Community College Instructor Credential in Biological Sciences.
- Submit official transcripts.
- Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every four years).
- Complete a Live Scan fingerprinting at the district’s expense.
- Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
