The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $250,000 - $500,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The successful candidates will be in a unified division providing clinical care at multiple sites, teaching and training medical students, residents, and fellows in our educational programs, and will participate in clinical and/or basic research.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• Candidates must have a MD or equivalent or a MD/PhD in a health-related field.
• Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Ophthalmology or related field.
• Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates with a minimum of one year of research experience or clinical training in Ophthalmology are preferred.
