The Position
Open Until Filled. This role is part of the adjunct faculty recruitment pool for three college campuses and additional continuing education centers. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are added to the adjunct pool for possible assignments in fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Hiring departments retain the right to contact qualified candidates as positions become available.
Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes.
Major Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Provide quality instruction and create an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.
- Be available to students outside of class as required.
- Degrees from regionally accredited institutions.
- Either a Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject or an Associate degree and at least six (6) years of occupational experience.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of continuing education students and staff.
- Experience in computer build and repair.
- Completed CompTIA A+ and Network+ certificates.
- At least five (5) years as an IT professional.
- Technical competence and an interest in maintaining current knowledge in the IT area.
- Availability to teach in the evening and possible Saturday classes.
- Ability to conduct fully online courses.
- Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
- Work can be transferred to any site at the Chancellor’s option.
- Required pre‑employment documents: official college transcripts, Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam, Live Scan fingerprint clearance, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential (if possessed).
