Volunteer Experience Specialist

As a Volunteer Experience Specialist, you'll play a key role in recruiting, training, and retaining the incredible volunteer trainers who deliver Girl Scouts programming across San Diego. Partnering with the Volunteer Experience Manager, you'll ensure a seamless, high-quality journey for volunteers—from onboarding and screening to ongoing engagement.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain engaging training frameworks aligned with local and national standards.
  • Coordinate trainer schedules, course logistics, communications, and resources.
  • Administer volunteer screening processes (background checks, fingerprinting, status tracking).
  • Manage training calendars, registration systems, LMS platforms, and CRM updates.
  • Analyze engagement data to enhance programs and processes.
  • Partner with Marketing to promote course offerings.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for trainers and participants.
  • Support conferences, events, and outdoor skills programs.
Required Experience What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in communications, adult education, training & development, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience developing, coordinating, or facilitating training programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional best practices.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, LMS, CRM, or project management systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed and occasional travel.
  • Belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouting and a willingness to support the Girl Scout Promise.

The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00, DOE.
