This opening is Full‑time (40 hours per week), Monday‑Friday, for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role is a Homeroom Associate Teacher in the Lower School (Junior Kindergarten). Responsibilities include contributing to and teaching lessons, coordinating curriculum, supervising carline, lunch duty, and recess.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Lead Teacher in daily lesson delivery, leading small groups, and facilitating whole‑class instruction.
- Contribute to curriculum development and lesson design to meet diverse learning needs.
- Foster a classroom environment where every child feels capable and seen.
- Maintain student safety and classroom discipline in partnership with the Lead Teacher.
- Manage classroom control to create a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Education.
- At least 12 units of Early Childhood Education and current CPR/First‑Aid certification.
- Teaching credential or enrollment in a credentialing program.
- Previous experience with preschool‑aged children in a school setting.
- Exceptional written communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
- Strong organizational skills and time‑management.
- High computer literacy and ability to integrate educational technology.
- Self‑starter, proactive problem‑solver.
- Collaborative team player who values shared teaching approaches.
Compensation ranges from $24.25–$29.50 per hour (degree with credential in process) to $32.50–$38.75 per hour (degree with credential), based on teaching experience. Benefits include competitive salaries, TIAA retirement benefits, and full medical/dental coverage.
