THIS DISCIPLINE INCLUDES THESE AREAS:
Medical assisting, hospice worker, home care aide, certified nurse aide, health aide, ward clerk, central service technology, childbirth educator, primary care associate, massage therapy.
Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. These positions are as needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes.
Major Responsibilities- Instruction in lecture and lab courses per department assignment, available to students outside class.
- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
- Stay current in subject matter areas.
- Fulfill part‑time faculty responsibilities.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and interests.
- Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject area of the course taught; OR
- Associate degree AND six (6) years of occupational experience; OR
- Equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies (valid for life).
- Foreign degree evaluation by a NACES or ACEI member.
- Experience in any of the discipline areas listed above.
All applicants must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and classified professionals.
Applicants must submit official college transcripts, a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every four years), Live Scan fingerprint clearance, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States before employment.
