SHEET METAL-CE​/VOC: Adjunct​/Substitute Instructor POOL; non-credit

Position:
Adjunct Faculty (Part‑Time/Temporary)

Location:

San Diego Community College District – District Wide (City, Mesa, Miramar campuses and various continuing education centers). Applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego.

Pay placement is contingent upon submission of official transcripts and verifications of previous work experience. Instructors with advanced coursework or experience are placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules effective the first month following receipt of the required documentation.

FLSA Status:
Exempt (does not accrue overtime)

Position Type:
Adjunct

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Teach all scheduled lecture and lab classes as assigned.
• Be available to students outside of class hours.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time faculty member.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Create and maintain an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.

Foreign degrees:
Applicants with foreign degrees from institutions outside the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of NACES or ACEI. A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the application.

• Submit official transcripts.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewable every four years).
• Have fingerprints taken by Live Scan computer (clearance must be received prior to first day of employment).
• Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
