- Teach lecture and lab classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Be available to students outside of class.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught, OR
- Associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught, OR
- Equivalent experience and education.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of continuing education students and staff.
Equivalency:
Applicants who do not possess the exact degrees may submit a Request for Equivalency Form and documentation.
Foreign degree holders must have coursework evaluated by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute member and submit the evaluation.

Working ConditionsVariable, depending on assignment. Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes. Part‑time faculty positions are as‑needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego.
Additional InformationAn employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.
Must complete official transcripts, tuberculosis certificate, live scan fingerprints, and documentation of work eligibility prior to employment.
