Position Overview
Position title: Health Services Research, Health Policy & Implementation Science.
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $93,700- $157,900. Salary is negotiated annually.
Position DescriptionThe Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence. We invite applications for an Assistant Professor rank faculty position in Health Services Research, Health Policy, and Implementation Science. These positions include teaching in the School’s degree programs.
As a member of the School, the candidate will teach and conduct research in the field of Health Services Research, Health Policy, or Implementation Science, and mentor public health undergraduate or graduate students.
The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor rank and will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Series include 50% Ladder Rank (Tenure-Track) / 50% In-Residence. The appointment requires candidates to be partially self‑funded with secured extramural funding, e.g., with grants.
Responsibilities- Teach and conduct research in Health Services Research, Health Policy, or Implementation Science.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in public health.
- Minimum of two strong publications appropriate for the Assistant rank level.
- Demonstrated experience teaching at least one class in a public health‑related topic. Teaching assistant teaching qualifies.
- Current extramural funding and/or a detailed extramural funding plan.
- PhD, DrPH, or related doctoral degree by the time of the start of the appointment.
- Experience in mentoring undergraduate or graduate students in public health.
- Teaching experience in Health Services Research, Health Policy, or Implementation Science.
- Experience mentoring students in those research areas.
