District Wide. Role:
Part‑time/temporary instructor offering flexible hours for adult students across multiple campuses and continuing education centers.
- Provide instruction in lecture and lab classes as determined by the department.
- Teach all scheduled classes and make themselves available to students outside of class.
- Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Maintain accurate teaching records.
- Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
- Master’s degree in TESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics with a TESL emphasis, Linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, Education with a TESL emphasis, or an equivalent.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, Linguistics with a TESL certificate, Applied Linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate, together with a Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, English, Composition, Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Reading, Speech, or a foreign language (both degrees from a regionally accredited institution) or an equivalent.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
Equivalency experience, foreign degree evaluation if applicable, and completion of a Request for Equivalency Form.
