Child Development Center Assistant

The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Child Development Center Assistant. This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This list will be good for one month with the possibility to be extended. The Child Development Center Assistant provides assistance to the instructional program in classrooms, resource centers, halls, and playgrounds at a Children's Center, Child Development Center, or State Preschool.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma/GED and A passing score on the San Diego City Schools Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or An Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Personal appearance and language patterns which will provide a satisfactory example to pupils.

Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE):
Applicants who do not have 48 or more eligible units of college-level coursework, will be invited to take the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE). Candidates must attach a copy of a U.S. High School Diploma, U.S. High School Transcript, GED, or Foreign Equivalency Certificate to the online application to be admitted to the exam. The Eligible List will be used to fill vacancies at various sites.

This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies. This list will be good for one month with the possibility to be extended.
