Compensation Range

Hourly: $26.63 - $28.89

National University’s School of Public Service, College of Law and Public Service invites applications for part‑time faculty in Crime Scene Investigation & Forensics. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. The successful candidate will work closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contribute to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student‑centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals).
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at‑risk students and collaborate with student services.

• Master’s degree in criminal justice, forensic science, administration of justice, or another related forensics degree required.
• Doctoral degree in the criminal justice or forensic science field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing crime scene investigation, forensic photography, and fingerprint analysis.
• Minimum 1 year of higher‑education teaching adult‑learner experience.
• Experience working in law enforcement required.
• Experience developing course content preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in California to facilitate courses onsite at the Spectrum Campus in San Diego.
