Position Overview

Adjunct Faculty – Computer Science. Part‑time/temporary positions across the San Diego Community College District campuses and continuing education centers. Positions are available on a semester‑by‑semester basis and require applicants to live within commuting distance to San Diego.

• Teach lecture or lab courses as assigned by the department, delivering instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Be available to students outside of class time for advising and support.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course materials.
• Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas and uphold professional conduct and ethics.
• Teach all scheduled classes under the department’s standards.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (regionally accredited).
• Or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus Master’s degree in Mathematics, Cybernetics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Engineering (both regionally accredited).
• Or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics plus Master’s degree in Cybernetics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Administration (both regionally accredited).
• Or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Cybernetics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering plus Master’s degree in Information Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Systems (both regionally accredited).
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.

Equivalency:
Applicants who do not meet the exact degree requirements may complete a Request for Equivalency Form and provide supporting documentation.

Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a professional association that is a member of NACES or ACEI. A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the application.

All applicants must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

• Submit official college transcripts.
• Provide Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
• Undergo Live Scan fingerprinting and obtain clearance prior to first day of employment.
• Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
