Friendzy is looking for a warm, encouraging Early Education expert to to come alongside schools within the Diocese of San Diego utilizing the Friendzy Early ed program. The ideal candidate for the Early Education Fellow is an educator looking to supplement their schedule with meaningful opportunities to collaborate and coach other educators. This position is integral in helping teachers bring Friendzy to life with confidence.
Working closely with our School Success Specialist, you'll be a friendly, familiar face for schools focused on celebrating what's going well, offering practical next steps, and making implementation feel encouraging rather than overwhelming.
This is a relationship-first coaching role all about supporting educators with your early ed expertise and helping them naturally weave Friendzy's lessons, language, music, and strategies into the rhythm of their day.
What You'll DoCo-facilitate Early Education training alongside our School Success Specialist and other Friendzy team members.
Visit schools and lead staff training
Coach teachers on implementation best practices.
Help schools establish strong, sustainable Friendzy routines and practices.
Reinforce Friendzy language, music, and instructional strategies.
Support teachers in weaving Friendzy naturally into daily classroom experiences.
Provide coaching through a mix of in-person visits, phone calls, and Zoom.
Support two San Diego live events each year (see Position Details) at both the vendor table and Early Education training sessions.
The ideal candidate brings both Early Childhood education experience and strong relationship-building skills. This is a supplemental role with the flexibility of hours arranged to compliment another full or part-time teaching position with expected hours ranging from 0-5 hours in a week.
Knowledge & ExperienceExperience teaching in Early Education, Preschool, Pre-K, and/or Transitional Kindergarten classrooms.
Experience implementing Friendzy (or a strong understanding of the program) is highly preferred.
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for young learners.
Experience leading professional development, facilitating adult learning, or coaching teachers.
Comfortable using Zoom and other basic technology for virtual coaching and training.
Warm, encouraging, and relational, with a heart for supporting teachers.
A strong communicator who builds trust and offers feedback in a positive, encouraging way.
Organized, dependable, and able to work independently while partnering closely with the School Success Specialist.
Flexible and willing to travel to schools throughout the San Diego area as needed.
Passionate about social-emotional learning and helping schools build positive, relationship-centered classrooms.
Location:
San Diego areaCompensation: $22–$27/hour.
Time Commitment:
Up to 5 hours per week, with hours varying based on training and coaching requests.Training:
Friendzy provides onboarding and training. Previous experience teaching or implementing Friendzy is preferred.Live Events:
Plan to participate in two San Diego events — the Live Convocation on September 25, 2026 and the Live Professional Learning Day on March 13, 2027 — supporting both the vendor table and Early Education training sessions.
