Middle School Math Teacher - Pre-Algebra and Algebra for 7th & 8th Grade

Associate Head of School
Salary Range: $57,500 - $72,500
On-Site/In-Person
Our private, independent school in San Diego is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate loves working with middle school children and creates a positive, engaging classroom where students can learn and grow.
ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach daily lessons that support student learning and development
Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
Monitor and assess student progress and share updates with parents
Adjust teaching methods to support different learning styles and needs
Work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership
Supervise students during recess, lunch, arrival, and/or dismissal periods each week
Coach Physical Education as part of a teaching team
Act as an approachable student Advisor and Study Hall proctor, reinforcing SEL and Fundamental Learning Skills
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Maintain accurate student records and follow school policies
Work with other teachers for integrated units
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required
Teaching credential preferred
At least 2 years of experience teaching Middle School Math preferred
Targeted training in reading and literacy development preferred
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Commitment to supporting all students and fostering an inclusive classroom community
Fluency in Google Suite products (gmail, calendar, Google Classroom, etc.)
Ability to move throughout the classroom and school campus during the school day
Ability to occasionally lift and carry classroom materials or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds

Full-time position following the academic school year calendar
Some evening or after-hours events may be required
