The Environmental Studies minor program with John Muir College at UC San Diego seeks temporary, part‑time lecturers to teach a single class for a 3‑month quarter. Candidates should have teaching experience in Environmental Studies and related perspectives such as Environmental Law, Indigenous approaches to climate change, Federal policy and Environmental Law in Indigenous contexts, Wilderness and Human Values, and Coastal Ecology.

We seek lecturers who can integrate environmental justice and climate change with a qualitative approach to natural sciences, and who have a critical approach to the concept of wilderness from Indigenous and decolonial perspectives.

Compensation for teaching a single course is approximately 1/9 of the full‑time salary range posted above.

• M.A. degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related field required by start of appointment.

• One year teaching experience in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related fields within a university setting, encompassing a diverse range of perspectives such as humanities, social sciences, policy, and natural sciences.
• Ph.D. and/or terminal degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or related fields.
