Job Summary

PLNU is a Christian liberal arts university that values diversity and encourages culturally and academically diverse faculty. The Department of Art and Design seeks an adjunct teaching candidate who can provide excellent instruction and contribute to a vibrant learning community.

Salary:
Using a 3‑unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $5,013 - $6,684. The specific salary is determined by the number of units taught.

Part‑time.

• Provide instruction in Art and Design, including general education and service courses.
• Teach a variety of courses such as Art Education, Graphic Design, and/or Visual Arts.
• Collaborate strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
• Engage in personal scholarship and, where possible, scholarship with students.
• Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially.
• Participate in departmental activities, governance, and work groups as requested.
• Contribute to preparing students for their postgraduate careers and helping them discover their calling.

• Graduate degree or professional qualifications in the Art and Design field.
• Minimum of one year of higher education teaching experience, with an emphasis on effectiveness with diverse students.
• Philosophical commitment to Christian liberal arts education and support for the university’s religious and educational goals.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
• Agreement to live in accordance with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
