Job DescriptionThe San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Library Assistant at Longfellow TK-8 Spanish Immersion Magnet School. This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This list will be good for three months with the possibility to be extended.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Library Assistant position will provide assistance to the instructional program in school libraries/media centers.

Longfellow TK-8 Spanish Immersion Magnet School. 5055 July Street, San Diego, CA 92110 (Area C ). - School Website
- Work Schedule: 10 months per year / 17.5 hours per week. This is a part-time opportunity and not eligible for district health and wellness benefits .
- Salary: This position is paid on the Para educator Salary Schedule. Grade 20. To view the Salary Schedule, .
- Vacancies that require the incumbent to be Bilingual will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:
High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associate’s degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable.
NOTE:

Licenses and Other Requirements:
Personal appearance and language patterns will provide a satisfactory example to pupils.
Some positions may require conversational and/or written skills in a specific foreign language related to the needs of the assignment.
