Job DescriptionThe San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Library Assistant at Longfellow TK-8 Spanish Immersion Magnet School. This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This list will be good for three months with the possibility to be extended.

The Library Assistant position will provide assistance to the instructional program in school libraries/media centers.

Longfellow TK-8 Spanish Immersion Magnet School. 5055 July Street, San Diego, CA 92110 (Area C ). - School Website
- Work Schedule: 10 months per year / 17.5 hours per week. This is a part-time opportunity and not eligible for district health and wellness benefits.
- Salary: This position is paid on the Para educator Salary Schedule. Grade 20.
- Vacancies that require the incumbent to be bilingual will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.
The minimum qualification set is defined in the next section.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience: High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associate’s degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable.

Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.
Licenses and Other Requirements: Personal appearance and language patterns will provide a satisfactory example to pupils. Some positions may require conversational and/or written skills in a specific foreign language related to the needs of the assignment.
