Classification Title

-Guild, Local 1931 – Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. Annual Salaries will be recalculated for service less than a full academic year based on Education Code §87815, any required adjustment will be made within the first pay period. Travel reimbursement for interviewees traveling more than 200 miles, one-way, may be paid according to geographic location (see SDCCD Travel Stipend Policy, Rev 7/14/2011).

The Position delivers lower-division academic and career education coursework in real estate principles, practice, finance, legal aspects, appraisal, economics, and property management. The instructor prepares students for California Department of Real Estate (DRE) Broker and Salesperson licensing examinations, and workforce entry or advancement. The full-time position includes at least 15 hours a week teaching both on-campus and online courses. This position will provide dedicated faculty leadership for the DRE-certified program that serves as the primary Real Estate education provider in the District and a leading provider in the region.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
  • Teach core real estate subjects using lecture, active learning strategies, case studies, and hands-on laboratory exercises.
  • Deliver instruction across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, fully online (Canvas LMS ), and hybrid/blended formats.
  • Integrate educational technology, digital learning resources, virtual simulations, and industry-relevant platforms to support accessible, engaging, and applied learning across instructional modalities.
  • Maintain and update course syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials in alignment with college curriculum standards and California state real estate law.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) & Assessment:
  • Develop, assess, and evaluate Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs).
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, census rosters, grade records, and course progress reports in compliance with district deadlines.
Equity & Student Centeredness
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Implement culturally responsive teaching practices and active learning techniques aimed at closing equity gaps for underrepresented student populations.
