Community Engagement & Education Specialist

Develop an understanding of systems, issues, and community needs within designated geographical areas

• Coordinate, schedule, and deliver educational presentations to community, faith-based, justice-system, school, and other groups
• Provide educational presentations in person and virtually
• Use online resources to facilitate participation and education on virtual platforms
• Develop, cooperate, and participate in social media content with the region lead
• Serve as liaison between External Affairs, health center staff, and the community
• Assist with educational and promotional materials
• Maintain, evaluate, and update presentation materials and resources
• Stay current on sexuality and reproductive health information through training, workshops, and research
• Track statistics and generate monthly reports in accordance with grant requirements
• Attend community meetings and events to network, identify fundraising opportunities, and increase visibility and support for PPPSW's mission
• Represent Planned Parenthood and External Affairs professionally at internal and external meetings and events
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with community stakeholders
• Identify and coordinate PPPSW participation in relevant community events, including volunteer teams
• Participate in community outreach events as needed
• Enter presentation, outreach, and social media data into appropriate systems
• Regularly support volunteer opportunities

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach, public relations, marketing, civic engagement, communications, education, or related fields
• Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate virtual reproductive and sexual health education
• Experience developing and managing content across multiple social media platforms
• Comfort discussing sensitive topics, including comprehensive sexuality education, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and all FDA-approved contraceptive methods
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and consultation skills
• Ability to deliver comprehensive sexuality education to diverse audiences in both group and individual settings

Demonstrates expertise in community outreach and education, with a strong focus on facilitating virtual reproductive and sexual health education. Proficient in developing content for social media and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
