Biological Sciences:
Contract Instructor-College Credit – San Diego Miramar College. Anticipated start:
Spring 2027. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri) with potential day, evening, Saturday, and/or off‑campus assignments. Location:
San Diego Miramar College, Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch area. The college is part of the San Diego Community College District and emphasizes student access and success.

Classification
Description:
Assistant Professor of Biology (1.0 FTE; 12 months). The successful candidate will join a supportive environment focused on student achievement and DEI initiatives.
- Teach biology courses within the assigned curriculum and participate in standard faculty duties as defined by the college and applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Contribute to program development and student success initiatives, with a willingness to adjust workdays and hours to departmental needs.
- Engage in college initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, and support historically marginalized and minoritized student populations.
- Participate in campus service duties as required by the department and college policies.
- Meeting the minimum requirements for the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology as defined by the district and college hiring policies.
- Experience and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in higher education and to serving diverse student populations.
- Ability to develop tools and resources to support diverse learners and promote inclusive teaching practices.
Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a recognized professional evaluators (NACES or ACEI) and submit the evaluation with the online application.
