Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational setting near San Diego, CA. This full-time contract position covers a maternity leave beginning October 5 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students from preschool through adult transition. As an itinerant educator, youll provide both direct instruction and consultative services, supporting the diverse needs of your students while collaborating with staff and families.

We are seeking a dedicated professional who thrives in inclusive environments and adapts their approach to address each students unique communication, learning, and social-emotional needs. While preference is given to candidates able to provide in-person services, highly-qualified virtual applicants will also be considered.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:
  • Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing authorization (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across a range of ages and abilities
  • Familiarity with individualized education plan (IEP) processes and compliance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both school teams and families
  • Ability to implement evidence-based instructional strategies and technology to promote access and student achievement
  • Comfort with both itinerant and consultative service delivery models
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction and support, adapting lessons to various language and communication modalities
  • Provide consultatory guidance and resources to staff, students, and families
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals according to state and federal guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records and timely communication
  • Foster a positive, accessible learning environment that encourages student independence
