Temporary Lecturer in Music AY

The Department of Music within the School of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.

Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on published UC pay scales.

Appointments may be one or more quarters based on departmental need, and for one, two, or three courses per quarter. Candidates must be physically present and in service for the entire duration of the teaching quarter(s).

• Demonstrated track record of teaching classes in a university setting
• AB D for PhD or DMA status in Music or relevant topic; candidates who do not have a PhD or DMA in Music should have at minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

• Experience teaching large scale classes in a university setting
• Experience teaching upper‑division courses in relevant music courses aligned with our department's offerings

• Curriculum Vitae – Your most recently updated C.V.
• Teaching Evaluations – At least 3 different summaries in the last 3 years compiled into 1 PDF.
• References – 3–5 required (contact information only)
